SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Mohawk Ambulance Service, the largest privately-owned ambulance service in upstate New York, is proud to announce that its Training Center staff has received the “Educators of Excellence†Award presented by the Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of the Hudson-Mohawk Valley (REMSCO). The team consists of Jeff Williams, Ed Marchand, Judyth Tiffany, Robert Panarese, Laura Young, James McCredie, Eve Aragona, Emily Peters, Alex Downey and the late Richard Beebe.
Mohawk Ambulance Service offers a number of training opportunities to caregivers and medical professionals, including CPR, ACLS, PALS and other American Heart Association courses, NAEMT courses including AMLS, PHTLS and EPC and New York State Emergency Medical Technician Original and Recertification Training. The company frequently provides both Basic and Advanced Life Support Continuing Education training and lecture programs throughout the Capital Region.
In 2016, Mohawk introduced a free EMT training course as a way of recruiting new talent into the EMS field. The five-month course is offered twice annually and has added some talented certified emergency medical professionals to the EMS community. The latest course is currently underway and runs through June with another slated to begin shortly thereafter.

The award will be officially presented at the annual Regional EMS Awards dinner which will be held October 15 in Saratoga Springs. The regional winners are also in contention for the state award presented by the New York State Emergency Medical Services Council at the NYS Vital Signs Conference in Rochester October 25-29, 2017.
